IPTV

Scion introduced IPTV products to the market a few years ago but until recently has concentrated on it’s sales of standard CAT5e type products. We have seen a further push to IPTV as HD content comes to market and the only real way to send TV signals in HD is IPTV from original broadcast signals.HDMI has it’s place in the domestic market but the professional market needs more features and better transmission distances with much more flexibility and control of the TV system.

Scion’s has sold a large TV system in Northern Ireland for installation into a Hospital. The system consisting of roughly 350 TV positions went live during July. Merittcom successfully installed the system early July to deliver TV services to not only the bedside but to communal areas as well.

Scion has now installed systems in a large number of hospitals throughout the world all of them having their own features engineered by Scion staff for services like movie channels to simple food ordering menus. This being the standard CAT5e products and with the introduction of Scions IPTV range this market sector will grow.
